Summer Reading Wrap Up

Good Morning Internet,

Hows everyone's day so far? It's Brianna here to give you my reading wrap up of Summer 2017.

In the summer I read a total of 11 books. Not the best I know, but when you're just getting out of a reading slump. You do the best that you can. How many books did you read this summer? I'd be really inspired to try and catch up to you guys one day. The life of a college student can take some of you're time away.

Being a college student is a whole other story and we'll save this another day.

Though what you're all waiting here are some of my favorite books I read this summer:

My first 3 books are from the Saga series. I'm a huge fan of graphic novels and the art and story that goes along with them. Saga is a Sci-fi series following a family. It's an epic tale of their life on the run and handling their new daughter. It's narrated by the daughter and it's done so tastefully. I really likes these novels, I think those who don't like graphic novels would enjoy these.

My next book is Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, I gave it a 5/5 of stars. It was amazing, it's about a guy named Simon who's gay and meets a guy online. No one knows about Simon and it works out that way. Everything is fine until he meets a guy who threatens him to expose him to the entire school. This was a great novel, it had humor that had me laughing out loud.

Next, is The Gentlemans Guide to Vice and Virtue. How do you write about such a good book? You just do. This book was amazing and so hilarious, that I don't even know where to begin. I guess I'll start with the a quick overview. This book follows a character named Monty who's about to go on a Grand Tour of Europe in the 1700's. (Yes, it's a historical fiction. Though it's not boring, I promise.) He has a huge crush on his best friend Percy and Monty thought it was gonna be just him and his bestie, but then his sister Felicity tags along. The three then go on an epic adventure all through Europe and it's just so great. It's laugh out loud funny book and the character's are just so lovable. It's just ahh so good. ( Trigger Warning* Racism, Homophobia, Gender Inequality)

Lastly, is Daughter of The Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller. This book was amazing, I devoured this novel. It's a YA fantasy with tons of girl power. In the novel we have Alosa a daughter of a pirate king who intentionally gets caught by her enemy ship, to retrieve a special map for her father. All in all I highly recommend this book. It was so good, and had tons of action for the girl fighter in all of us.

So, these were some of my favorite books of the summer. All in all they were all great and I had a really good reading experience. What were your favorite books that you read this summer? Tell me in the comments. Well, I wrote a lot and I'm gonna go. Thank you for everything, and I love all of you!

See you in my next post!
